Adobe has been a major client of eMotion studios since 1994. In a way, the founders of Mightyverse™ have grown up with Adobe, witnessing the development of Acrobat, the leading applications for creative professionals and the recent integration of Flash and other web technologies through the acquisition of Macromedia.
As we’ve developed Mightyverse™, we’ve tapped our relationships at Adobe for previews of technology and for advice around our technical roadmap. This roadmap includes the use of Adobe’s AIR and Flash Lite 3.0 technologies.
Mightyverse™ has been promoted by Adobe in February 2008 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Additionally, there are plans to feature Mightyverse™ on Flash Lite capable devices in an Adobe mobile initiative in 2008.
Our partners at Adobe share our belief that Mightyverse™ will become a native application on cell phones around the world, and like Google, a natural part of the application ecosystem on mobile devices. We are excited to be partnering with Adobe as their technology opens up fantastic opportunities to create unparalleled user experiences on mobile phones and portable devices.
Gracenote and their underlying CDDB database has been a powerful inspiration for Mightyverse™. Ty Roberts, co-founder and CTO of Gracenote is an old friend and former programmer for eMotion studios and has been very generous as an advisor to Mightyverse™. He was an early believer in the Mightyverse™ concept and immediately grasped how we could partner with Gracenote on the development of their lyrics database project.
Gracenote is the world largest provider of metadata about music: album and song titles, cover art and now lyrics. We are currently in discussions about how we might leverage their 400,000 transcribed lyrics (primarily in English) into an entertaining and useful crowd sourced online mechanism to translate them into multiple languages.
Gracenote’s relationships with the music industry and deep experience in developing and profitably marketing their database, makes them an extraordinary partner to Mightyverse™. As we develop the system for translated lyrics, we also develop a fascinating corpus of poetic translation by music lovers around the world.
Mightyverse™ is represented by WSGR, also a client of eMotion studios. They are providing legal services for the launch of Mightyverse™. Our lawyer at WSGR is Donna Petkanics, partner and former managing director of the firm, also a member of their Board of Directors.
Donna and her team have been excellent advisors to Mightyverse™ and are tremendous resources for the company.
